The States

Tidbits of history presents information about each of our United States, including how each state was named, bits of history, significant events, unusual laws, and people born in each state.

Each state has designated a bird, flower, and tree as a symbol of that state. You can find this information on each state page or on the following summaries:

Future plans include adding state quarters.

Information was gathered from a variety of sources on the internet and books I own. In most cases I’ve tried to give credit on each page as indicated. If you find something I have not credited appropriately, please let me know.
